POick an interesting thing make progress on it and tell us about it. For them getting smarter with each project is good thing. They like it. That’s the background. Technically two kinds of thesis here. Tell us which kind you want to do. One is project thesis and the other is written thesis. The written just a work of research and thought. The project thesis is mixed. You can do a planning piece. You eseentially decide yourself what part of it would be built.

Schedule

This is the thing we are looking at january and december. First time you tell us, this is what you are going to. Make it wrong instead of vague! Thesis Statemenet: 1-2 sentences What problem or project are you taking on. A paraggraph, we would prefer to hear three different statement about the same subject. Don’t be I am exploraing. Go through and give us handful of concrete things. Don’t keep it vague. Throw away an idea. Having lots of ideas and then throw some away. You can give us three different concerete statements. You can always change it but be concrete! mix of things you are interested in, people don’t know so give us background and keep us interested with this background. Do things that come into your head. keeps you going, that’s important too. Research: I can do better than that. Tell us what we shoulld be looking at. SOme context and shape you are doing. work decription: I am going to take this idea and expand this such such way. This is not a big chunk of writing. Couple of paragraphs. Do one for practice and go back do another one.

Documentation

You are turning in written documentation. Alongisde doing your thesis. We don’t wanna make you do so much things that you didn’t do, clearly explain what you did, it is more important our goal is two fold. We want to get in the habit of yourself explain it clearly. And we want you to leave something explainatory. Not an alternative thing to thesis, it is a comment in your code, it is something making of. What I did for my thesis, here you go.

Head

Body

End Matter

We are in the intersection of paper culture and artifact culture.

How long does this should be?

Thesis instructors will be having their side of this documentation, we will circulate their CV adn you can look at there is going to 10 different thesis instructors. All of the thesis content comes from you, it is just you, he doesn’t agree that some instructor will assist you better than others. It is going to be more effected by the people you are in class with. Conversation environment mostly consists of that. ITP standed for Incomplete thesis projects. until 2000 they didn’t have any thesis class or week. It is more conversational than written.

It is useful when you are in a situation you are telling someone who doesn’t know anything what youare doing or technology you are using.

Ideation

If you want to have good ideas you must have many ideas. Most of them will be wrong, and what you have to learn is which ones to throw away. Linus Pauling (1901-1994)
